  • Fire exit signs design help please?

    Morning all
Just a quick question. What sign is on the final exit of an escape route. Arrow up/Down or just Text?
Have tried to Google but all seems a bit vague.
From what I can work out is UP means carry on in the same direction or go up. DOWN just means go down from here. Yet on many buildings above the final exit is an illuminated sign with a down arrow.
    Any help would be appreciated.

The correct sign should point up above a door and final exit without flames They way it was explained to me about the arrow was if your driving along a road and a road sign points up what way do you go? It seems still to this day a lot of people still put the down arrow which is incorrect according to British standards.
