  • Finally Saying Hello after Truevis Purchase.

Hi, I’ve been a free member on here for a number of years but never really used the site too much.

My company covers graphic design, website design and print company. The core business is Graphic Design from logo designs to rebranding, simple business cards to 40 page property guides. 5 years ago website design became a core part of the business and is the quickest growing are for us. that may be about to change however with the instal of a Roland Truevis VG-640.

We have always produced short run digital and large format in-house. The large format machine is a Canon IPF8100, it’s been great but is a pretty old now.

We have always worked with suppliers and outsourced the production of various large format printing including roller banners, Pop-Ups, flat signage, banners etc etc. On occasion we have had some unexpected results back for one reason or another. Having to wait 5 days for products and knowing the profit margins on these I decided prior to Sign and Digital that I would buy a VSi-540 last year. The fell through however as I decided to move studio and employee two more staff instead.

I’m quite glad that did fall through as we now have a shiny new VG-640 Truevis in the studio.

The install and training is completed, we have a 3 full sets of ink and £1000 of media on account – I can’t wait to get started using it.

I feel I might end up being quite active on the UK Signboard as I’m sure I will have a million questions, be that regarding suppliers, techniques, ideas or when I get stuck.

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the boards.

Sounds like you’re a similar set up to us, we mainly supply print, and produce digital in house, outsource the litho. As well as this we produce vehicle graphics and demand for signage is increasing.

You’ll soon get into the groove of the roland, we ran one for 4 years before jumping ship over to the Seiko.
