    Hi John

Have a play to familiarise yourself with the tools.

I started with signpal master (thou I dont like corel) however I think you will find the learning curve is quicker when you have to achieve a client request for somthing that is perhaps a little beyond your ability whatever level your at

    Good luck

Good to hear you are on the way John. Get stuck in, check the manual when you need to, and then ask on here. As for practice, try replicating existing logos etc. When every shiney surface in your house is covered in vinyl logos you’re ready!

Good for you john, glad your sorted now mate…
until you get your head round it and to help prevent wasting too much vinylon tests. you should use the back of the vinyl and change the blade for the pen. do all your practicing on the back until you want to start cutting.
download some of the vector logos in the file swapping area, import them in and familurise yourself with simple things like scaling up and down, sizing graphaics to specific sign signs etc create mock up signs etc anything and everything until you know your way around the software.
you can download tutorials on corel from their site, youtube.com also has some too…

Hi John, glad to hear that you are on your way! Well done for getting membership too, you’ll find it invaluable as a learning resource alone, let alone the savings you will make on purchases from site sponsors.

good advice from Rob, I would never have thought of using the pen/back of the vinyl.
