  • Final Rub – What squeegee do you recommend?

After doing another lorry yesterday afternoon and this time i decided to do it dry, I’m impressed. Now i’m hooked. Thanks to you guys, The forum and Rob it made the job around half the time than what is used to take applying wet. But my next question is:

What squeegee should i use to go over the decals on a final rub, Ive found with my regular rubber/nylon oracle squeegee that it can sometimes put light scratches on the vinyl? The squeegee was brand new prior to the job and the surface was clean.

    Regards

    Kev 🙂

i have seen brand new felt squeegies scratch vinyl especially dark colours try a clean piece of soft lint free cotton over the top of your squeegie it stops the fine scratches

I usually wet the squeegee if I’m doing dark colours

I sometimes lightly spray the vinyl before final rub-down and use a scrap piece of liner to place over section. The water holds it (liner) in place & the squeegee slides easily over the liner.

Cheers guys, I’ve used a felt squeegee bought from Grafityp. I found that when going over vinyl bits of the squeegee were getting caught around the edges of the vinyl – hence why i’ve never used it agian. It wasn’t old either, It was brand new. Has anyone else found this?

    Regards
