file question
hi folks. ive noticed this before but thought id ask. On several occasions in the past designers have sent me files, i usually ask for illustrator . in most cases they open fine but sometimes theres nothing appears on the screen. ive asked the guy to resend in eps format .hes using a mac im on pc could that be the problem ? i use signlab & flexi. Hes using cs2 i think he said. any help appreciated

in signlab you sometimes have to open the layers or pages separately
as they will import that way

Try getting him to save it as a LOW version EPS or AI and it will help MOST of the time.
Also ensure that all text is converted to paths / curves before they send it.

Hi Brian,
David’s right. He’ll have to back save it as a Illustrator 3 file, which is a legacy format.
