is this regular vinyl or glass etch?

i would suggest doing it dry but thats me… if you have to do it wet then use rapid tac 2,

you can call their reps and ask for a sample bottle. its free and you get it in a couple of days.
applying wet to windows is harder than on metal and the like. not so much hard to apply but expelling the water to remove the backing tape can be.

Do it dry.
Do it at night too.
That way the patrons will be too wasted to notice any boo-boos.
And you can tell the owners that you don’t charge extra for providing entertainment!
Make any measure marks on the opposite side of the glass.
I sometimes use masking tape for this.

doing it at night/early evening is always a plus if its summer, because the sun has went down the glass i allot cooler and doesnt bite the vinyl right away.

again, like jill says, if you tape it into place first then peel out the carrying paper as you apply it prevents pre-tac.
again, like jill says, marking on the outside is a must.. but be careful that you are not looking down at the marks, as the 5mm thicknes of glass will throw you off the actual pin point of the lark. if lining up try looking directly level with the marks. i have done this in the past with text and panel work and it is enough to spoil the job.
masking tape is a save bet on outside of glass.. much easier to see than trying to find a pen mark.

if the place has lights in the window get them to turn them off also as they will cause bother with heat/pre-tac etc

remember to degrease with meths or something simular.

make sure your hands are washed right before applying. finger marks on the tacky side of the vinyl shows up when looking at it from outside. its there for good! 😮

Also I never thought about marking up on the outside 😳
As for waiting for the glass to be a little cooler we should be lucky as the sun doesnt shine on our side of the street after 9:00am..

Perhaps I should give them an early wake up by turning up around 5:30am . They will be so sleepy they wont notice the mess of it 😀 😀 😀

hi mate..
glass etch can sometimes be tricky to fit if new to it.
ide say, for the size your using its very much a two man job if done dry.
it is possible to do alone but not advisable if new to it.
basicaly, someone can hold off one side hovering the glass pulling it taught and you apply working towards them.. this isnt glass but gives you the idea.

obviously you will have the etch taped up.
if using etch ide advise some extra backing tape each side of panel, it gives you something to hold and prevents finger marks on etch.

another thing.. if you tape it up and have over hangs to hold onto a tip would be to (on the application tape) run a pen line around all of the graphic. whenm applying its impossible to see etch thru the tape and sometimes you miss applying a bit.

some glass etch work i have done in the past.. all fitted dry 2 man job
