Hi David
Just one working, nothing out of the ordinary, I want to compare against a summa before I purchase. -
Not used a Summa, always been a Graphtec user.
Had to have the solenoid changed on ours, but covered by the warranty, no hesitation and shipped the defective part back to Japan for investigation.
Are Signmaster closer than Manchester, they’ve a demo suite, and who we purchased ours from.

Hi David
I have a CE6000/60 so was just wanting to see how much better a 8600 is over this model and how it handles media and its tracking capabilities. I was also interested in seeing how they both handle print and cut jobs (i.e. print on Roland, cut on plotter etc.
I also presume the graphtec software / interface is the same and they can both be operated via a Mac or PC.
Don’t want to go to Signmasters as not buying from them as they never bothered sending me a quote. I have already set up a demo with the Summa at their UK base in Nottingham which is not far from us. Graphtec in Wrexham, to far.

Graphtec’s cutting master plugin can be run on Windows and OSX.
We print on our Seiko, and use VPM to print & cut, and use Cutting Master 3 for all our cut vinyl stuff. We had the FC8000 prior to this, and used CM3 and the roland to do the print and cut, so it should work the same on the FC8600.
We’ve never had any issues with tracking, either print & cut, or just cut vinyl. We’re based in Manchester if you’re in the area you’re welcome to pop in and have a nosey.

Hi David
Your offer much appreciated, Graphtec are going to bring a demo machine to us next week.

The 6000 and 8600 Graphtec are both good. Many people don’t see the benefit of the extra cost of the 8600. It is faster though and the tracking is apparently better but the print and cut is pretty much identical on the two.
The Cutting Master software runs on Mac and PC.mod-edit

Main reason is need the width of the larger cutter.
Yes spoke with Neil yesterday and they have been very accommodating.
