  • Fault after replacing print head, Advice please.

    Hi all.

I’ve just bought a pre-loved dx4 print head for my cadet plus, I was assured it was working 100% and that it was kept moist.

I fit the head and was just getting a stream of mageta over anything I printed.

Is there anything I can do to remedy this, or have I bought a lemon?

I put my original head back in to double check my machine and it works fine, (well as it was lol).

    Any advise greatly received.

    Cheers

Well it certainly sounds like the head is duff. Whether it’s as a result of you fitting it or it was a duff head to start with is going to be a difficult argument with the supplier. What was the fault with the original head?

    Hi Stafford.
I got on to the supplier and had no arguments at all when I told him it was faulty and what it was doing and a full refund followed.

I put a new head in last night, from digiprint, which went in a treat.
This is the third head I’ve fitted since owning the machine. They’re a doddle to fit. I just didn’t know if there was anything these heads were prone to before i replaced it with a new one.

The first when I bought the machine as it had had it.
The second after a major head strike on a buckled media clamp.
This head was just grazed during that strike too which lost a small portion of nozzles but I’ve persevered up ’til now all be it there was the expected banding through my prints.

Anyway the new head has sorted the banding and another lesson learnt.

Thanks for getting back again, I appreciate it.
