thanks to Pete for the print,

basic layout was supplied by the customer (word doc !) so everything had to be vectored, logo’s and all, some of the images weren’t suitable for vectorising, so i made my own floodlight, generator/compressor, and no litter/dead fish thing, oh yeah, and the swimmer and fire !

it took quite a while to get the art finished, but as usual, more tricks were learned !

anyway, it’s a 1500×900 frame, dibond panel, laminated print, and a clear acrylic front, it’s going on a harbour wall, so will have to be sealed with silicone or something to ensure longevity, hopefully it’ll see a couple of years, but when it’s rough down there… it’s rough ! it’s 30yrds from the sea usually, but with a big blow it’ll get a good soaking.

Nicely done, loads of time went into the artwork preparation I should imagine.

Are you going to create a seal between the dibond and acrylic to stop water getting between them?

unfortunately i don’t think that’s an option, the two blank A4 spaces are there for bits to be added, i think they’re gonna use a laminated sheet in there, to they’ll need to change it from time to time, i’ve told them to screw the frame to the wall with a big squidge of silicone behind 3 sides, and seal the removeable end after fitting it , and to do the same around the front of the frame where it meets the acrylic, the end piece will obviously need to be redone each time they change the info, prob once a month,

i’m not fitting this, the port authority want to do it apparently.

Looks pretty good to me Hugh and as Andy said the artwork must have taken a while to prepare, mind you I think your generator looks more like a compressor :lol1:

you are correct ! i just vectored the rediculously small (10kb) clipart file i’d been sent, needless to say i had to redraw a faor bit of detail that i couldn’t even see, it was this i was concentrating on, hence not spotting it was a compressor, not a generator, in fact, it was mr normington who first mentioned it, after doing the print !! customer collected it friday evening, chuffed to bits with it !

    thanks guys !

Pete, you should see the workshop at the mo, i’ve just cut weededtaped, layered etc around 25m of vinyl this eve, the bins are overflowing with weeded sticky, and the paper bin with mask tape, backing, etc, the place looks like a bomb site ! will have to tidy tomorrow, got a load of it to go on some dibond panels (nowt exciting) and the rest on a car on thursday, still, it’s out of the way now !
