    Hi all,

I have a job on next month for a customer who would like the attached picture below behind their lecturn on a stage. the size is 8m x 3m.

They want the images of the planes (cant see them properly on the jpeg but alot of them) to be prominent ie. bright and be able to see them in a dark large conference room.

The major part of it has to be black, any suggestions on how i could do this would be appreciated. UV printing was mentioned as an option. My customer can supply UV led batons as they are and AV company.

Bit stuck on this one im afraid.

    Kind regards

    Gareth

I might be picking you up wrong here but….

an 8m x 3m banner stretched over a wooden frame and stapled.

    then there is this part…
how to make the planes stand out very bright?

have you considered having a them projected onto the backing wall surface?
the surface can still be a single sheet of banner as it would be smooth and seamless… but with the planes projected they would be bright!

    just an idea… for starters?

well apart from reflective vinyl and a projected rainbow of light (will that work) might work or not.

another thought is to cut acrylic clear planes and attached them to the backdrop and put a tricolor LED in them back to a DMX controller to create a rainbow effect. Think Xmas lights

    Hi Rob,

Thats what we were thinking along the lines of aswell but the speakers will be walking across the stage so we dont want shadows etc.

Dave, we have also thought about that… hmmm great minds thinking alike.

I will let you know what we decide and post the finished project.

Must get my thinking cap on haha

    Cheers lads

You could always cut them in (a very white) photolumincent vinyl and project UV light or get some coloured / white UV paint & mask it.

simple MDF lightbox about 125mm deep, use spiritflex c section on edge. print a banner with the gradient in the background, then cover with cut out MATT black vinyl, it will cause a total blackout, causing the planes to light up. a few simple flourscents and it will look sweet.
