  • Event – Hanging fabric banners. Advice needed, please?

    We’ve been asked to make some hanging banners for a clients seminar, similar to the link;

    We’ve previously made a few of these using PVC banner material, wooden dowels and jack chains, and although it was time consuming they worked a treat. However, the client is now asking about having these done as hanging fabric banners instead of the PVC material.

    As we are using a HPL26500 then we can source and print on the fabric no problem, however I’m a bit concerned about all the finishing on it as I’m assuming they would all need stitch hemming and so on, which I can’t really do in house.

    Has anyone made these banners before or know of a company that can make them at trade prices?

    Regards,

    Pete.

    We recently did something similar for a client who was hanging these in a shopping centre 5m x 1.2 wide.

    We made a pole pocket on the top and added a 1.5m aluminium flat section with holes each side this was used to hang the banner.

    In the bottom pocket we stitched in a iorn weight flat bar that weighed around 4kg this help the banner drop nice and straight.

    Worked rather well in the end. I would post pictures but this was a trade client so can’t im afraid

    Yes the last lot we did were 1.2m x 4m and I used banner tape to create a tube section in the top for a 25mm wooden towel, with a screwed eyelet in each end which attached to a length of 10mm jack chain to hang from.
    The bottom had the same wooden dowel to give some weight.

    All worked a treat, but we used banner tape as they were made using PVC banner material.

    Did you do the stitching in-house or use an external company? I’m not too hot with a needle and thread you see…

    We carry out all stitching in house.

    I’m surprised you get the weight needed at the bottom with a wooden dowel I struggled with Aluminium flat bar at first but mind you I neeeded these not to move when the air con was on in the shopping centre.

    Worked well in the end!
