I Have a steel lectern that i need to fit that has 2 posts with a 250mm x 600mm base plate. i will be burying the base plate 600mm deep with 1000mm above ground. The top plate will be at an angle of 30 degrees so not really much wind resistance. I was thinking that i might get away with just back-filling with soil and compacting rather than using concrete. Can anyone let me know if this would work or should i use concrete.

the problem is vandals, once they start it moving they will have it out of the ground. Just use a couple of bags of post mix will do the job fine
