Good machines, just trained on these with epson, a lot easier to work on than previous versions.

Hi Simon
I have an Epson 7600 which provides the most fantastic print quality the 7800 is even better, without trying to teach you to suck eggs but they are pretty useless for outdoor printing. I use mine for exhibition work and posters. I buy all my consumables from a place called bodoni 01895 825776 speak to them and they will advise you as they are epson specialists, its worth it just for the advice. They not badly priced either. Hope this helps

Where did you buy it from in the end? You wont be dissapointed with the output. I run mine just through a standard windows driver and it works fine. One other tip, dont be tempted by the cheaper cartridges on e-bay. the ink only lasts a few years compared to the 75 years oin the epson and most people who use them get printer problems. Happy Printing 🙂

Hi ordered it through digital photo solutions on the web. http://www.digitalphotosolutions.co.uk spoke to minesh, he really knew his stuff, and advised on a media bundle etc, his price was excellent as well £1997 plus the vat, thanks for the advice on the inks as well, i will let you know how it goes

We have the Epson 7800 but only use it to create artwork for our screen-printers (I know what a waste). Its a great machine – well, the black is good anyway……I hear it has other colours but I am yet to see them.
What do you guys use it for?

Hi Guys
Just looking into the Epson 7800 and wondered where you buy the vinyl from.
I need to print some photographic images for internal purposes on vinyl and mounted and have been advised by Epson that they don’t do any for this machine.
I don’t really want to go ahead and buy if I can’t find any vinyl to print on.
Thanks in advance

the choice is more limited for pigmented type inks try allprint and grafityp
a gloss vinyl for dye inks will not work with your inkschris

I’ve used a self adhesive material made by Inktec on my HP, it was supplied by LFP, has a nice finish and may be ok for Epsons.
It’s described as self adhesive synthetic paper, it’s water proof, threw the print in a bath overnight with no problems, needs laminating though like most water based inkjet media.
It’s not stretchy like vinyl though so is only good for flat or single curvature stuff.
