any good electro mechnical engineer should be able to diagnose the fault,
but if parts and or setup is required, then roland are probably your only option. you said that they wanted £250 to come and look, but what does that include? would you get it fixed for that or would they want to charge you for parts and a return visit>
give this guy an email mate, hes very good at what he does and prices are comepetitive. hes in scotland & covers north england but i would imagine you will have a call out charge for that distance.
the £250 was just the call out fee it was then £60 per hour after that just to find the fault then they would have to come back and fix it,and there is vat to go on that.
