Anyone got any info on this machine.
I know it dos’nt cut but it offers the same spec as the Versa Camm…
Three years outdoor, unlaminated using water based inks with heaters.

    Hi!
If I remember right, the Vinyljet can’t print to paper. You can use it only for vinyl and banner works.

This is a big dilemma for me too. Which is the best (inexpensive) wide format printer for sign making (?) (?) (?)

The reason the Encad (Kodak) VinyJet can’t print to paper is because of it’s 220 Volt heater.

This same heater prevents people from letting it print un-attended (like all night long–which is nice at times). Apparently it is a fire hazard to leave it printing by itself.

I think the VinylJet has a 36″ output, which is a plus compared to the VersaCam’s 30″.

Why Encad can’t tone down their heater is anybody’s guess.

The Mimaiki JV3-160 is supposed to be coming out with Eco-sol inks sometime soon. However, it’s either Eco-sol or Solvent. You can’t switch back and forth.

went to see the encad after the versacamm for my money opps i mean my bosses money i recommended the versacamm while i was lokking at the encad there was smoke comming from the back and i dont mean a trickle.AS well as that it can only go up to 600dpi as appose to 1400dpi
off the versacamm and not only that the versacamm looked a much better machine the encad has a lot off old proven parts in it which could be a plus depends what way u look at it me personally fell old is old and not always better.
anyway went for the versacamm (hot)

Sounds like you’ve purchased the Versacamm

I think a lot on the board would be keenly interested on your observations with this machine. So please keep us updated

Maybe the Mutoh Rockhopper I. is good alternative. It can’t cut but 46″ wide (~14000 EUR+VAT).
I hope so other manufacturers makes similar (or better) machines in the next year, and we can choose.

I’ve ordered a Versacamm it seems a good compromise to me especially after my recent poor experiences with a thermal transfer machine. I am hoping to take delivery in December and will keep you posted.

I looked at the Encad but as I have made money in the past from label printing and contour cutting First vinyl on the Cammjet I think the Print/Cut facility outweighs the narrower print width.

    Mark,

That’s good to hear because I have one on order, did you experience any of that finger rubbing off the print that someone was on about or did it look good. I have just had a nasty experience with a thermal machine which I had to return so I am a bit aprehensive. I spoke with a man from Roland the other day he was adamant the print did not rub off as described.

Sorry I missed the end of this thread, in regards to printing onto clear the results are very good. Darker colours look best as you would imagine.

Have you tried to tile anything with the Versacamm yet Mark?. If so, how were the results?

i noticed the new cadet now on sale. not sure the exact price but it looks like a modified versacamm like the soljet for the grenadeir.
if so, now we have the true sol printer at same costs as the versacamm.. 🙄
anyone know the cost of the cadet? b&p sell this as the baby grenadier.

i have started a second tets on the versacamm..
ive been running about with prints on my van for about 3 weeks now in the snow and cold, rain etc. havent had a close look but the prints seem perfectly fine at the moment. ok we are only talking weeks.. but we are talking bad weather and a couple of presher washes..

Victory Design are also advertising a full solvent printer which looks identical to the versacamm, same specs too. In fact, it is the same colour as the b&p machine. It retails at the same price as the versacamm.

I get the feeling that these printers (including the roland) are most likely made by another company from the far east and badged for the suppliers, a bit like a lot of the power tools available in the uk which are made in china.

There could well be a flood of various ‘badged’ machines appearing in the next few months. Hopefully, a bit of competition might reduce the prices! Anyone had any good quotes below 9k yet?

    Hi All

The Cadet costs £8995 , thats just the asking price, you need extractor fan for it as the fumes can be strong ,

It comes with a secondary rip from Roland,

    Cheers

B&P seem to be doing some good deals on the Cadet (this months sign up date)
    lease purchase over 5 years @ £40 a week
interest free credit spread over 18 months
Rental at a cost lower than lease purchase (proberbly £39.99 a week )

Victory has called thiers the EcoJET compact, they all look the same as the versacamm except the ends on victory and B&P’s machines are blue
