Its a flat sheet like a sheet of paper just a little thicker, and when you put a current through it, lights up very bright it can be wrapped round corners and is pretty much indestructible it can be punctured and still lights perfectly its used all over in the states they use it instead of light box’s they just mount it to wall and place vinyl on the top of it. i have few links to information about it, can i post links?

used a fair bit of this sort of thing also the EL wire we do a bit of as well.

its all pretty simple stuff. just the el product, wired to a powersupply or battery back. you can power the el wires up off 2 x aa batteries.

thats the stuff!! only problems that i have come across is the inverters that i have used are qutie noisy they put out a high pitched whine… i could not hear this in there videos, so they might be using a better inverter. and also due to this being pretty new technology the prices reflect this also.. I would hate to think what they charge for a large sheet like that… one real nice thing about el paper is you can overlay several different colours over top of each other and turn them on at different times etc.

The only problem with it is the cost, i have a few bits of it 12″ x 4″ and 12″x2″ and 4 invertors and that was well over £200.00
i also rang the company who’s website it is and was speeking to the main guy over there and he’s currently working on a new verion that you can watch TV ON!! said it sould be out sometime this year!!

i would say keep looking into it mate, try getting a good deal and look for potential customers that “will” take it if you can give them what they need.
don’t be fooled by many companies saying “oh thats great” ide definitely use that.. once you buy it in and then they start moaning about the prices. 😕

like i said, after a quick look, the product looks great with bags of potential, but pricey like you have said.

Ill keep looking in to it still trying to find a UK supplier.
you never know one day it might do away with those big awkward light box’s,
ill keep you posted on it

Stick with it Martin, finding a supplier might not be easy, but it looks like a great product. Have you thought of importing it over here and becoming the UK distributor if there isn’t already one?

Mark, if you cover your house in that stuff and keep it on all year round, I’ll buy your beer at the next SignUK 😀 Actually, I shouldn’t have said that, you’ll probably do it now :lol1: :lol1:

I don’t know if they still do it, but a few years ago this bloke was trying to get people interested in EL. I made some graphic panels which he backlit with EL sheets.
