Be interested to know how you get on. What’s the problem with the FX?

Dave, thanks your reply and I’ll contact Pete.

Nothing wrong as such – it has actually run trouble free for 7 years – feel it needs a service/clean up/oiling before it breaks down one day when I really need to get a job out quickly

I’ve just had mine serviced, very thorough and they replaced practically everything on both machines, new motors, brushes, squeegees, struts and took it all apart and cleaned it. Very impressive service.

    What do you call expensive?

Jason, I seem to recall a figure of about £ 500 call out and first hour when I enquired a couple of years ago – unless you pay for service agreement then it’s cheaper.
Maybe I’m being mean bearing in mind the cost of the equipment and that it has worked well for 7 years…

I think its dropped now to £275. If you attend an Edge roadshow £100 then you will get a free service, free foil and head wipes. Be prepared to pay for standard consumables like brushes etc though. After that put it on maintenance contract, especially if it’s 7 years old. Servicing is free once a year which includes all parts. The only thing that isn’t covered is the head but you’ll get 20% off and labour is free should the worst happen.

    Hope that helps.

    Jason
