I haven’t done a great deal of research into this but we have been using Mactac to make up artwork for shall we say vehicles of distinction, however I am not a 100% happy with the finish of this, call me particular but when you lay certain colours on top of a dark car the vinyl is a touch translucent making it appear slightly darker thus throwing off some of the subtle ideas. My question is; Is the only way around this to use a cast vinyl, will this block out all the colour of the car and secondly can I print onto this with an Edge (can’t see it being a problem).

    Thanks

    dear particular 😉

cast is not always more opaque, one possible answer is to use digital white with a Grey glue back, print colour with the edge.

Thanks Chris, considered this but not entirely happy with the structure of this vinyl, I find it tends to ‘grab’ the surface.

Just looking for a range of coloured vinyls that are denser, we utilise the colour of the vinyl with the Edge so white wouldn’t be ideal for us.

We use Avery for most of our vehicles which has a grey adhesive which is meant to diffuse the surface underneath.

Does the MacTac have the same sort of thing as I know Calon does not.

No the MacTac does not have a grey background, hadn’t thought of Avery, will check.
