i still need the ability of thermal print. and my faithful pc60 is on its last legs.
my requirements are that i can print laser quality text at 1- 2mm ish and cut very accurately. both of those things the pc 60 – 600 will do superbly and on off the shelf standard use vinyl.

not interested in larger stuff as the soljet is just fine for that.
when a friend had a edge i always ended up doing the small stuff for him as he could not get the quality in print or cut.
so has this altered over time or still the case.

    ideas please

    very helpful thank you Peter.
am i right in saying that the edge1 was 300×300 and the edge2 300×600.
did they ever do 600×600 dpi.
the end result will be do i spend £600 to 700 on my pc60 or buy some thing newer which is nearly as good.

i just wish they produced better quality laser vinyls then i would not be asking the question.

I think that even the fx it is the same resolution, John cooper has one and perhaps will comment, if he sees this.
you are correct about edge 1 and 2 reso

Some very good deals on the FX at the moment with Omega Chris. Maybe worth contacting Spandex, can’t think of the Edge reps name but I know he is back from hols.

Edge FX is 300×600 at max resolution, exactly the same as an Edge II (in fact the additions are tpc/ip connection and a different way (easier) of loading the foils which are in a new type of caddy.

I have both an Edge I trunion and an FX, must admit I tend to use the FX mostly, unless I have way too much to print.
