    Afternoon all. 😀

I’ve just got my hands on a Gerber Edge 2 (thanks Peter 😎 )and I’m trying to use it on Flexi 7.6.

Basic printing is no problem. It keeps saying there is no ICC profile assigned to the device but it prints ok.

At the minute all I’ve done is print black boxes to make sure it is communicating etc but it won’t print the crosshair I need to line it up in the plotter.

Can anybody help with any settings I might be missing for this or any other help which may be useful.

    Thanks all
    Kenny 😀

Kenny, are you trying to print from within Flaxi using the production manager? If you are have you set the edge up as one of the devices in production manager. When you select the media type you are printing to then it should automatically select the right ICC profile as long as you have installed them.

    Thanks Martin.

Yeah, the Edge is in production manager. I’d need to double check I have the ICC profiles installed though admittedly

Kenny, not sure how you install the ICC profiles with Flexi but should be fairly straight forward, just make sure if you buy any new media to print on that you also get supplied with the correct ICC profile as well.

Er??? I didn’t think the edge needed icc profiles. (?) (?) It’s been a while since I used one.

Karl, I have never used one so you could be right, I don’t own a large format printer of any description so what I know has just been picked up here and there from various places.

As for the crosshair not printing, are you setting the item as print AND cut.
I don’t know your software, but in the Advantage software you had to tell it you were doing both, if you know what I mean.

Things may have changed since I used one last. As far as i’m aware you tell it to print and that’s it!

Yes, but if you want to print some bits, and print & cut other bits – surely the software needs to know what’s what?

I am just guessing that this is why the crosshair didn’t print.

    I dunno.

The Omega software knows what vinyl you tell it to print on and changes the temp settings so the foil wont stick to the vinyl.

Will only print the cross hair if cutting.

    Nick.

    Got this sorted thanks.

There was one menu that didn’t have the ICC profile selected. I just changed this to the standard adobe98 one.

To get he crosshair to print, I just have to select the shape then go to contour cut. Crosshair then comes up automatically.

Thanks all for the input 😀
