Can someone please give me some advice on how I line the laminating film up with the media prior to it going through the final rollers on my Easymount EM880?

For example I might try to laminate a sheet of 5mm foamex. My laminate is the same width as the board and does not impinge on the rollers at all. I just cannot master getting the film to lay onto the media prior to passing it through the rollers. I always end up with it getting twisted and wrinkled.

The laminator is brand new and i bought it months ago. Its handy for laying printed sheets over but sits idle. The vinyl is fed properly through the rollers.

Help me please before i hand it over to the missus to use as a clothing mangel.

OK Tim here goes, cut the laminate to fit the sheet, lay the laminate on the sheet in position, raise the rollers and place the board under them about half way through, checking the laminate has not moved. Lower the rollers and peel back the laminate and cut the backing paper. Now feed through, take out and turn around and feed back the other way, phew!

    Hope that makes sense.

Peter your description does make sense. And thank you for that. I reckon i can make that work.

Do you use the roller self feeding system though for any type of laminating?

Tim mine is mainly for applying application tape, but I do laminate digital prints and mount them as well.

They are not top of the range of course but for the money they are spot on.
The only thing that’s gone wrong on mine is that the overlay for the switch panel has a small hole in it. Overall good value for money.
