Easy Sign Software Problem?
Posted by Ben.Dexter on 12 December 2007 at 11:16Hi,
I’m trying to cut out some letters for the rear of a van using Easy Sign, but for some reason it doesn’t want to cut,it keeps feeding vinyl thru,it is some kind of page setup problem but I can’t understand why,I made a new page at 18” by 40” then designed the text which was 39” wide by however tall then send it to print and cut and as I say it keeps feeding vinyl thru.
any ideas where I’m going wrong? thankyou,
Mod-edit :police3:

Try putting your job at the opposite end of the page. On Easysign put the job at the bottom.
Think this makes sense and should sort it out.

yeah that’s where it is already,so it should start cutting as soon as I send the file to the printer, instead of having to feed vinyl thru, but it doesn’t seem to work.

could it be your cutter set-up rather than easysign?
certainly with my mutoh cutter if it’s set to ‘sheet’ instead of ‘roll’ it will roll out the whole roll looking for the sheet edge.

i know nothing about this software but you mention "PRINT + cut"?
-
yeah this software has these optons…
I would click file, Print and cut full color, then you have 4 options
Print
Print & Cut
Print & Cut Print Only
Print & Cut Cut onlyI use print and cut,cut only requires crop marks which obviously aren’t their.

as i said, i dont know anything about this software. but isnt there just a "Cut" option? sounds more like a RIP software option.
Have you been able to cut "anything" from the sofware?
are you sure the machine doesnt have pre-feed set very long? cutters can pre-feed vinyl before cutting. once it has prefed the amount required it goes back to the start and begins cutting.
or could it be prefeeding "expecting" to print first, but there is no printing so stalls?
these are just guesses

ok i just edited the file with the artwork, and made the lettering really small so it fits on the machine horizontally,I also added a small square of color so it had something to print,it printed and then cut out the letters so it must be some sort of problem with the size of the text when full sized.
I added a small square of color to the full sized artwork sent it to print,it printed but then instead of holding the printed section over the drier it kept feeding out media…

have you your page setup correctly. we use easy sign but our page is always set at either 590mm x 5000m( longer if needed) or 1195mm x5000mm make sure your page guides are the right way round ie on the 590 axis, and place your artwork onto it. if it is cutting the small text it has to be the way tat the text is placed on the page. ps if you dont need to print and are using a separate plotter use just the plot option.

tried those suggestions but still no luck,it also seems to do the same thing when using Corel?

did you get it working i use easysign master but you dont select print and cut i use the plot button
