It may be more appropriate if you stated why you opted for Durasol?you have already done it, so not being funny, why ask now?

i use activa-sol with our bulk ink system and i am aware of the activa-sol ink from b&p but not dura-sol. what claimed benifits has it over eco-sol and activa-sol?

I had an issue with a dodgy cadet which B&P fixed for me at their costs [this is covered in another post on this forum]. As part of the package they also supplied me and installed DuraSol Lite inks free so I did not opt for it as such.

Benefits over others I really do not know but it does print well, and as derived from their communication requires less frequent cleaning.

A few of you may know that I’m relatively new to the printing side of things, so I’m not exactly an authority on the matter.

But what’s the big deal with ‘frequent’ cleaning or not? I use activa-sol like Robert – so far so good.

It takes, what – 5 to 10 minutes every couple of days (I’ll run through some print on Monday AM as it’s been sitting over the weekend, then a quick clean Wed & thorough clean Friday PM)…is it REALLY a hardship to clean up the heads, wipers & capping station – no really, what’s all the fuss about? It’s just good housekeeping to keep your machine in pristine condition so making money without a breakdown.

Do you REALLY want to trust a "it’ll require less frequent cleaning" on your £big bucks machine to save 20 or 30 minutes a week…not me!

i agree 100% dave… we only clean it on a friday evening before closing down for the weekend. but if its not being used for more than 2-3 days then yeh ide give it a light clean. as you said, no big deal…

do we not shower every second day… sometimes every day?
me… i wash once a month regimentally whether i need it or not. 😉

Rob, I think you got that wrong.

    Dave cleans frequently,
you only do it now and again.
I do it once a fortnight

I think Durasol lite are B&Ps answer to Rolands Eco Max.

    Alade,

I’m surprised that you have made a substantial investment into printing and then allowed a supplier to have free reign and change the most critical part of the system without discussing, advising, specifying or costing it with you.

You guys don’t get it. For me this is a step forward from a dead end stalemate and you will need to read earlier discussions on this printer to understand where I’m coming from: http://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.p … ight=alade

I now have a working printer with brand new print heads and other key parts changed by manufacturer and that is a BIG plus. If the inks are a problem I know I can easily change them and that is why I want to know from people who have used it or who know about it to inform my next decision.
