Dry wipe boards – Vinyl or laminate
Posted by Mike Thornley on 30 April 2019 at 12:12We have an order to produce a results board at 2m x 1m, the artwork contains empty tables for client to fill in etc, we plan to print the template etc.
Anyone recommends a dry wipe vinyl or laminate or in fact a method of doing this.
Thanks

I’d print it, then apply dry wipe lam. We get ours from Pyramid – Simply Dry Wipe.

I would do the same as Chris, print then apply dry wipe laminate. Have fun its like cling film :yikes:

Print & dry wipe lam’
We use the Metamark drywipe lamination (MD 205, 25micron)- and yes its thin & fun! If your laminator has hot top roller… don’t use it, makes it even worse 👿
There is a second Metamark Dry wipe laminate, MD206, which is 100micron… much easier to fit.. BUT twice the price.

We find dry wipe laminates from most suppliers to be really expensive, however take a look at Dorotape – they do a laminate called dry wipe film, 1300 wide, 100m for £247 +vat, which is an incredible price compared to most! Never had any complaints

can dry wipe lam be applied without a laminator ?
can it be applied wet ?

TIP FOR FITTING
we use a stripe of vinyl or tape apx 2" wide and fit along the leading edge of the drywipe. It gives us much more rigidity to the fitting process. Once thats gone though your laminator you should be ok.I would never attempt to fit without a laminator unless it was a small job and i dont think water would be a good idea but i could be wrong good luck

We always use a laminator. The Pyramid one is thicker than most of the other ones, so a lot easier to handle, plus it’s quite a bit cheaper.

We do lots of these, try colourbyte for the drywipe laminate it’s around £140 for 100m x 1370mm
