Down at A&E, only gone and cut myself.
Posted by Daniel Evans on 19 July 2016 at 11:40Ok so I know many of you have done this but I always thought it would never happen to me.
Just went to trim some graphics and gone right through my finger, my own stupid fault for not using a safety ruler, from now on, no graphic will be cut unless with a safety ruler from now on.
If you’re using a standard ruler, you have been warned, go buy one now.
Sitting down a&e for I’m guessing all afternoon, it would of easily paid for itself.

I did this not long ago tip of my thumb.
It has not started to feel normal again after 3 months.Bad part is I was trimming excess vinyl from a piece of composite 8(.
Plasters were to small so some tissue and vinyl wrapped up did the job till I could get it looked at.

Ouch! Done it myself. After waiting hours they glued mine back together, could have done it myself! 😆

Once I got back to work, I started trimming again without a safety ruler, 2 minutes later I said **** this and literally went an bought a safety ruler, will never look back now.

Give it a couple of months & it will be all forgotten about & the safety rule will be stashed away somewhere 😆 😆 😆 😆

Nippy sore.
Done that a couple of times years ago when rushing and a normal steel ruler…worst was new blade, hard and fast through the finger nail too – I don’t recommend having your finger nail pulled out so they can stitch the bits of finger together.
It’ll heal well though …give it a couple of weeks… don’t be too tempted to pick it when it gets itchy!
These days I’m either freehand cutting along weed boxes or using a selection of 100 to 200mm wide 6mm acrylic straight edges to trim with. Stops the blade jumping up and you can see through them!
Safety(ish) first

Always happy to bring a little blood and gore to the boards. :smiles:

Been there, cut that!
I always keep some superglue in the first aid box, for temporary fix.
Instant bond, no sting :smiles:

I done something similar the other day. First real hot day of the year & I decide to wear shorts…..but did not notice someone had left a stainless sheet hanging out a rack, so I walked into it. At first I thought I had scrapped the back of my leg. 1.5" gash & several stitches later as it was so deep.
