Doming supplier Required
Posted by Mo Gillis-Coates on 8 September 2010 at 10:01Hi Guys, getting enquiries coming out of my ears for doming, please could someone recommend a cost effective supplier for a start up kit (obviously mistakes will be made to start) i have all sign and cut machinery etc so its just the resin application i need.
I did look up Acuflow, but they haven’t responded to me in 3 days so they aren’t really reliable in my book.
thanks in advance

We used to use acuflow and they seemed fine but that was a while ago, grafityp do the kits also but the advantage we found with acuflow is they will sell the cartridges in singles, as they have a short shelf life we found this better that having to buy packs for a small order.
All that said, we found doming to be full of issues and stopped it fairly quickly, it’s a pain and we didn’t do it often enough to get into a good system and therefore never found it worthwhile.

i have had a doming kit from Grafityp in the past.
there should be a few other suppliers of it opn the UKSB TOOLBAR under Doming, found near the bottom of the catagory list. -
Thanks Rob, but ahem, I’m not getting positive vibes about this at the moment…hehe

Hi Mo,
I didn’t mean to sound negative about it, I’m sure plenty people do a lot of good stuff with it, we just never found it worthwhile.

Thanks Gav, I’m only small by comparison to most businesses here and I work on a very small industrial estate surrounded by small manufacturing. seems like I’m thier one stop shop for all things print at the moment so just keeping up with demand really.
I like specializing in small runs and quirky stuff that they have trouble sourcing. I live with mistakes and fudge ups all the time, it might suit me… but thanks anyway. It’s always nice to know that I’m not the only one who finds things more trouble than their worth sometimes ;0

I’m in the process of sending out letters etc to all my customers with samples etc for domed labels so still to see what sort of response I get. I also have some samples coming from Make A Gift but I got all my supplied etc from Acuflow, I also had a slow response from them by email but called them and they were good to speak to and prices are really good and product works well.
I suggest giving them a call, I did and it worked out well for me.
Good luck
Warren
