  • Does anyone supply heat transfer paper?

Posted by Paul Franklin on 27 June 2005 at 11:46

Having fairly recently gotten into the garment printing game we’ve been experimenting with several papers. flocks etc etc, but haven’t yet tried heat transfer paper for use on an Edge II on sprocketted roll.
After speaking with a few other UKSB members at SignUK we were recommended using the heat transfer paper from Spandex.
I’ve been trying to get this paper from Spandex since the show, but they still haven’t gotten any in, even though I’ve been given several dates now of when it should have been in stock.
Does anyone else supply heat transfer paper that will work with an Edge and foils that comes on a sprocketted roll???

GRAPITYP do a thermal paper, we`ve tried it with the edge. works great, only down side, slightly thicker than other papers.

We have been using heat transfer paper form Spandex for over two years. We stooped using it because of unreliability of supply, cost and the cost of the foils to print onto it. As far as I am aware noone else makes an equivalent certainly not for the edge

It was yourself and John I spoke to originally about this paper Adrian.
I can’t agree more about the unreliable supply of this material, in fact I’ve been unimpressed by Spandex full stop for about a year now, with account, material and supply problems, and sales reps calling up at the very last minute to cancel visits and then never rebooking. Anyhow I digress, but if Jobe from Grafityp could confirm Beckys above post that they have a suitable paper for the edge I’d be pleased to give it a go.

baship, board rules probably do not allow supliers to reply to your post, Just give them a call, and find out what they can offer.
As far as Spandex go, I think they are, or appear to be, having internal problems, Their service to me has deteriated over the last year.
I think the reason is they were king of the castle, for some time, but failed to keep up with their customers requirements, just my opinion,

I’ve got a roll of that film from Spandex which I’ve only used a few meters of. Seems to work pretty well with my edge 2 although not as good a print quality as you would get on vinyl it is more than good enough for the job really. I hardly ever use this stuff so if anyones interested in it send me a pm and I’ll see if we can doa deal 😉

I’ve all but given up using Spandex myself too now, as Peter says they seem to be having problems some where and I find them pretty troublesome to deal with now.

Baship, if you call our sales office and request a sample to try, that’s the best thing I can suggest.
