    Good afternoon to you all.

We have just set up cutmaster so we can cut from illustrator, we were playing around with a few bits and have noticed that we cannot seem to place a weed border around say 10 different graphics in cutmaster, it just puts a weed border around all of it.

Does anyone know how to put weed borders around seperate graphics in cutmaster or do the same in illustartor. We know there is a layers option to cut from but if we want 10 graphics in one colour, we don’t want to be creating 10 layers for one colour.

Does anyone know how this is solved, hope it all makes sense!!

    Cheers 😉

hi, i dont use either system, but my summa winplot software will only put a weed border around the whole job, if i want to break it up further then i simply but a box around each section i want to be able to weed seperately and then go into my cut software, it then leaves a border within the main border,

if you want to use the border as areg mark, as i often do, then again, just put a box around the graphic, make two boxes, one slightly larger than the other and it leaves a thick outline for registration purposes,

if i have a two or three layer graphic, i’ll put the layers together, place the box (border) around it, copy and paste is a few times, stick the original aside and then break up the new pasted copies so i have each layer in a box which will be the same in size and position around each layer,

might be a little long winded to say, but only takes a few minutes n reality, hope it makes sense !

add the weed border as part of the original image / logo. So it always cuts the weed border regardless. Remeber not to resize logos to the weed border dimensions, but to the logo !!!!.

Might cause problems at a later date when you recut to the logo size but resize to the weed border.
