One day I managed to kill my strip when the vinyl skewed and my plotter was unnatended. Turns out that the blade liked the white cutting strip quite a bit!!!! Knifed it to death more like!

So I took the strip off, cleaned the glue from the rear, and re-stuck it down but the other way round….GENIUS. Now this is working for the time being, but I need to desperately source a NEW strip.

Spoke to UKSignWizard who were not much help as I didnt buy the plotter from them. Then spoke to a chinese man at Creation, who was also not very helpful!

Any advise here guys? Does anyone know if a similar brand would fit, and if so, where to source the parts from??

Thanks in advance peeps. Oh and on that one occasion where it messed up on a big job, I DID have the blade set a bit lower than it should of been – hence why it cut the strip completely.

hello there, have you tried Alan flynn Flynn signs I beleive he is the official uk importer, he imports these machines and services them also so might carry some spares. you might have to be a bit patient trying to get hold of him as when I was picking my machine up from him his phone was going non stop he does have a web site so you might be better off trying to contact him through that.

I’ve emailed Alan Flynn twice now for some replacment blades, unfortunatly he has never replied, that was 3 odd weeks ago, I guess he is very busy.

you could try Chris @ ASA Print 01254 888989, very helpful guy.

    Cheers

Thanks for your suggestions. Tried Chris – cant help unfortunately. Tried calling and emailing Alan………he must be a busy chap!!!! No response as yet.

Anyone have any idea’s where I can get "plotter spares" from in general. If I measure this strip, then I may be able to utilise one from another manufacturer. 🙄 Put simply, Im not prepared to throw away a perfectly good machine (5 months old) for the sake of a peice of mat/plastic/or whatever it is!! :lol1:

Phil, did you get a strip, if so, how much? I could do with getting one as a back up.

nope still struggling! Its like rocking horse s**t. the one i have is 725mm x 5mm. Does anyone know of another manufacturer that takes the same size strip.

Spoke to Print One – they dont have any in stock and it will be a few months away yet before they get some.

    Any other suggestions anyone?

    Hi

I’d say that was genius too 😉 , and skill full perhaps, i don’t know, I’ve never removed mine, and it hasn’t been sliced up yet.

I was wondering, if it doesn’t chew up the medium, in other words, always cutting on the medium and never through to the strip, then its probably good for a life time?.

Personally, I think the p cut is a great little device, having all the function needed to temper and change every aspect from the speed to knife pressure. everything you could want in a cutter. They’re sturdy too.
