why use genuine ink? i have one of the uks first mimaki jv3 160s. i used genuine ink under warranty. when the warranty expired i found an alternative supplier, very good ink, may even be better then oem inks. try MEGAINK .biz or ITLgb.com.. itl ink is ok but is uk based. mega ink is the daddy it bites like hell to all material and the guy thats in charge is cool. Eliav Priel on 00972545446688 the courier charge is around £120.00 but the price of the ink is good. you will save a fortune.. don’t listen to the mimaki sales mans comments like it will screw up the print heads… this is shit. the ink has the same viscosity as the oem inks.. call me on 01360 449 440 if you need advise..

Thanks for that one. Mimaki distributors here told me the same thing about the print heads. The warranty is out in early April so I will look into it now.

At last someone with a brain, i see your head is screwed on properly. it is less then half price 6 x £75 for 440ml mimaki carts that is equivalent to (£190 per ltr) or around £70.00 per ltr when buying all 6 after market colours, thats 6 ltrs for £425 + vat. At first you will need to buy a refillable set of carts but this is cheap and you will need the fireware bypass file, this is the code that checks for the cart chips a mimaki con, i got this from megaink they were very helpful, i sent them my file and they modified it and emailed to back to me. i was once told that the mimaki machines are under priced, this is to get you to purchase one and they only make the good profit when you buy the inks.

Will it screw up the profiles i.e. colours ???

No. We are using Sun Chemicals ink now. The colour is exactly the same. We had to be sure on this. The smell is a little stronger now than it used to be, but when the work area is well ventilated, it’s not a problem.

You can ! We used a company in Dublin for this. "Repro Centre" We had CMYK, Light cyan, light magenta & 2 white. The white was a complete waste of money & our suppliers never had it in stock. Repro Centre sent down a technician to reconfigure the machine with 6 new inks & €85 per ink cartridge. This is just over half of what genuine inks cost us !
There was no charge on the call out as we bought a nice amount of ink. Also, you need a flushing cartridge for every ink port. Also €85. anything else I can help you with, just ask. 😀

Look at Techink Bulk ink. They are the OEM supplier of JV3 inks I’m reasonably sure. They supply to all the major machines in the market

1/2 the price of ‘name’ inks in cartridges. They have one of the finest (particle size) inks in the market, so less issues with the majority of heads.

Being owned by HP now, they are big into R&D, although the inks are well proven..

Hope they offer better prices than they advertise online as they are expensive if not.
