i am about to do a job for a pet shop
the front has 2 wood clad sides approx 4mtr wide x 3.2mtr high which the customer wants me to cover with di-bond and have a rain Forrest scene on it with various reptiles
there is no text going on these part just the images
some one in one of the other shops has told him he needs planning permission to do this
can anyone tell me if this is correct
    thanks

All signs need planning even if they are deemed to be a permissible and accepted part of the business.
It may be a mere formality in this case but you should advise your customer of this and make sure your paperwork states that it is deemed that permission has been obtained.

thanks for the info i will read through it but is it classed as a sign and is it different from painting the images on the wood cladding

not sure if the laws are different between scotland & england, but I would let the client and the council deal with the issues regarding the planning permission and get them to tell you, then you can get on with your job making the sign 😀
