  • Do I apply vinyl outside or reverse cut and stick inside?

    Hi All,

    Newbie Question.

I’ve been asked to provide cut vinyl on a window to show the opening times of a shop. Do I stick outside or reverse cut and stick inside?

    Cheers
    Adam

    I’ve done both.

outside will be a bit clearer to read but open to vandalism so it all depends.

The vinyl will stick to either side, perhaps the colour would fade quicker on the outside with the sun though.

I did one with etched glass and ment to put it on the inside but forgot to reverse while cutting so I just put it on the outside and it ok.

    Jimmy.

Adam, what ever floats your boat !!!

It’s really down to personal choice, there isn’t a right or wrong way to do it really, graphics on the outside will be more noticeable but some customers are afraid of it being picked off at night if it is on the outside so prefer to have it fitted inside.

    Cheers Guys,

Kind of thought as much but wanted to check with the experience rather than assumption.

I’ll put it to the client and see that he decides.

Glad to see I’m not the only sado working on a Saturday afternoon.

    Cheers

Adam don’t forget though to mirror it if it’s going inside 😳 it is easy to forget.

Hi All, Don’t forget, some vinyl has a white adhesive side so make sure when ordering the vinyl you can get the colour required.

    Cheers John
