Dixie Letterhead Sign Circus
Finally recovered enough from the Dixie meet to post about it.
Hosted by Sonny Franks (he was at Stewart’s meet) and his friend B-Bob.
About 150 in attendance, including 2 from Scotland, 2 from Germany, quite a few Canadians, and 1 from England. About an hour north of Atlanta Georgia, in fine weather.Wright’s of Lymm was represented (using their banner that Rob made I think) and I bought a nice #3 sable. The sign kit which was a grand prize was made by Terry Colley, who helped with the meet a lot. His family was just lovely too. He had given me a roses and castles book, so I practiced some narrow boat roses. Luckily someone had painted some on Sonny’s sign kit, which I used for a reference.
Got to try out the new 1-Shot formulation and colors (Kool Krimson, a cousin of maroon, and Sublime Green, which I prefer my own mix) and broke my record of 15 panels by painting 16. Judy Pate and Sal Cabrera were also there, along with a host of others. One of the give-aways was cans of "potted possum".
Here are a few pix. Sorry if some are blurry! I was sober, honest.
love…Jill
