HI onestop what operating system are you running on your pc is it xp ? if so it could be that you need to set/reset the port the cutter is using.

When you view the vector without fill or as an outline can you see what you should get?

coral when importing some ai or eps files will have a spurious line which is a broken loop joined in the wrong place and will do exactly as you describe. also if the plotter is driven via the serial connector the wrong handshaking or poor connection in the cable will also do as described – all from experience of this

Try this go control panel and the printer folder click on file then choose server properties, click on the port the cutter is using(mines on com 1 serial port) then click configure port, then click flow control and choose xon/off then apply.

ive had a few of these a si poiste dbefore and was told to weld which sorted it but its not sorting this one lol

mr sticker sounds like ur veiws might be the right thing how would i solve it
its an ai image which i saved to pc from here in the swaps sections of the dragon made for me with 4 legs

No you can cut fron illustrator but you have to make a new pallete colour and name it Contour Cut or some thing like that I got a how to from the Roland site but never needed it as I use signlab which is very good for cutting.

I get this when importing images from other packages. If the separate parts of the image are not overlapping then welding does not solve the problem. You need to move the nodes of one section over the next section then weld, if it is the same colour then you may be left with a small section where the overlap was, remove this and the object then just has the outline to cut.

    Hope this helps

there was a drag.ai dragon file on here the other day with 3 dragons in the file the top and middle ones have a loop fault and was caused by 2 nodes to close together – top one buy its eye middle one half way through its tail – why should it cut OK smaller ?.

as i remember the port should be set to hardware control its years since i had a serial plotter this problem will only show up on bigger stuff as the buffer handshakes when its full

the 3 dragons are the one im talking about except they had 5 legs and a kind gentle man here posted one with 4 legs this is the one ive been useing

the fault was caused near its tail first time and tounge second time

today i cut it a metwer long with flexi sign 7.5 and it cut perfectly
    yet in artcut it dont

i need this bigger 1.5 meters to 2 meters long so will play with flex sign tommorrow as ive never used it till today as like artcuts simplicity

    as for memory handshakes ect
is this memory in plotter orin pc ? if pc more memory will help yes?
