personally, if its just something for general updates and the like, a decent plazma TV on the reception wall fed by some free / low cost software playing video, stills or slide show is so easy to do nowadays.

thanks for the replies guys. Rob I was thinking along the same lines, but I’d like a system that can run independently and does not need to be hooked up to a PC, ideally something that just needs updating via usb / SD / network or blutooth.

I’m waiting on a few quotes, but a lot of these systems seem a little over priced to me, allowing very little room for markup !

simplest way i know of is these digital picture frames you get nowadays.
all they are is an SD memory card slotted into the side and it loops thru whatever you have on the card. you will get a 9inch one for around £50.

i wouldn’t imagine that big enough for what you are after but does show its a simple enough setup, just sourcing the right sized monitor.

i seem to remember i-spi trade supply beginning to push this types of thing
