Is anyone here printing directly onto tshirts ie using T-Jet or similar??

If so then what type of machine are you using?

At the moment I’m printing onto C-Print via a versacamm but i’m looking to hear from people that print directly onto tee’s

For the outlay it didn’t seem worth it to me, I had a rep call me the other day, The £10000 machine thay did has just been superseded to a £17000 one that is slightly faster, the samples I was sent felt almost identical to dark jet transfers maybe a little softer.
and at 3 minutes plus to print a shirt, with 2 white passes etc it just doesn’t seem viable on speed issues alone, let alone the massive outlay.

Don’t you still have to heat press them after anyway to fix the print?

Yeah to seal the print, either a heat press or a dryer

You can lease them, but at the moment they seem far too expensive to buy unless you had alot of work for one, but then you would prob be better getting a basic screenprint setup for £1k.

I don’t have that much use for one really, basic work I can do with cut vinyl but it’s more with the digital prints that people are after……. sublimation isn’t much use as most people want stylish tee’s or hoodies so that’s out the window lol

What about WOW paper from magictouch or sublimation flock for small things, not used either yet myself, WOW is only just coming out and needs laser printer.

That’s the big problem with sub printing only on white or pastel and very limited styles. Transfer papers are two stiff for large areas i find.

If i get some decent room i think i’ll have a go at screen printing.

Are you thinking of work wear or is it for fashion clothing?

do a search for a forum on what you are asking I did and the reading is not very good for any of the direct print machines.

We’re doing digital printing with a Brother GT-541.

We’ve done the obvious t-shirts jobs, but also bags, towels and pillow cases of all things. Our machine although probably one of the more expensive will only allow print onto white or light coloured shirts or just dark colours onto mid coloured shirts. We looked at some of the others and they didn’t seem to be true productions machines, problems with heads blocking etc. We just turn this on and print, so far so good.

Our biggest concern was that we would not be able to print white ink like the T-Jet, DTG etc but got over it and went looking for work on whites and lights.

We have trade rates if anyone requires a quote.
