The Window Film Company were asked to bring an added dimension of colour and design to several of the stands at Watford FC’s Vicarage Road Stadium and printing onto and installing brick vinyl, the Buckinghamshire based company were able to create eye-catching displays throughout the venue.

Like every other club in the country, Watford are looking to improve their on pitch performance, whilst also paying considerable attention to improving off the field matters. In a bid to make the supporter experience as enjoyable as possible, the Hornets approached The Window Film Company for help in decorating a large number of sizeable brick walls.

The Window Film Company has an in-house design and print facility as well as state of the art print technology which allows for the print of large scale, full colour graphics onto almost any surface. Brick vinyl is a fully printable material that is tough, long-lasting and durable making it suitable for both internal and external applications. It was these properties that made it the ideal product for this particular project.

The artwork was supplied by the football club, with some of the designs for use in the family area of the ground being created by a number of the clubs young supporters. Using information obtained from a detailed site survey, proofs were created by the graphics team and once approved, the vinyl was printed and cut.

The full colour graphics were applied by one of The Window Film Company’s installation teams to virtually every surface in the concourse of the family stand, including the entrance area, with the designs featuring “interactive” elements, where young supporters could pose for photos with images of their Watford heroes. The graphics also included an informative timeline featuring the key moments from the Hornets’ history.

At the other end of the ground, bar areas were given the brick vinyl treatment, with the clubs crest applied to numerous walls, as well as floor to ceiling sized images of memorable Watford moments from history. Large graphics were also applied inside one of the hospitality areas, providing the area with an added sense of professionalism and identity.

The job provides an excellent demonstration of what can be achieved with a combination of the right product, imagination and expertise and the results have been well received by visitors of all ages.
