• Digital Plotters

    Hi

We are looking at buying a Digital Full Colour Vinyl & Banner Plotter with Vinyl Cutter, Laminator, PVC Banner Hemming Machine.

Does anyone have any advice on what machine is best to buy, we were looking at either a Uniform Cadet, Roland versa cam or a Mimaki JV3 130SP.

We have not even started looking at PVC Banner hemming machines or Hot laminators, so if we could get some advice that would also be cool.

We have heard that the warranties can be quite expensive, again if someone knows how to get the best warranty deal that would also be good.

    Dear Chris

There are reasons I would rather not go into. But lets just say, at the moment we do a lot through a third party.

So is it as sunny in "your end of the country" as it is up here.

the cadet etc probably is not big enough for all banners but the Roland based machines will cut as well the jx requires a separate cutter i have a 54 inch Roland running max inks and very pleased with it.

laminators are a whole new story for vinyl printing work you can get away with a cold one but i prefer a warm type 40 deg less silvering a hot lam machine is for encapsulating.

yes the sun is shinning and very pleasant

    Dear Chris

Thanks, that does shed some "non sales orientated" light on situation. We had been told that a fully solvent based 54" Cadet, hot laminator, heat welder and eyeletter would do the job. If we get nearer a 100 meters a week they can stick a bulk ink system on it to keep the ink costs lower. Currently we do about 25 – 50 metres a week. My concern was the inability to plot when cutting. I prosume this was an aspect of the all in one Cadet that put you off it. The other thing I would like to know is it a full time job or is it just press a button (5 mins) and wait, set up cut (5 mins) wait etc.
