    dichloromethane PK1 and acrycast

    I am trying to make some clear display cases using PK1 solvent adhesive and 6mm acrycast acrylic, I am routing the edge so it is nice and smooth, but when I apply the solvent I am getting a crazing around both edges of the but joint. The middle of the joint seems perfect and clear!

    Any help would be much appreciated 🙂

    Hi Richard, the cracks you mention are stress cracks. In the past when working with acrylics, machined parts were annealed in a bath of heated water to relieve the stresses, cannot remember the temperature now but a google search may help.
