  • Dibond to fit arch help…

Posted by Nathan on 17 February 2006 at 18:23

Does anybody know of a company that will cut dibond to shape. I need to fit a fascia into an arch above a shop, the widest point is 20ft and the highest point is 4ft.

    Thanks

I think amari in bedford have a sub contractor who does it for them.

but I would say the hardest part would be drawing the shape for them.
By the time you have done that, you are only one step away from doing it yourself with a jigsaw,

Peter – I was planning to get a square on photo and create the shape from that but I’m not sure if that would be the correct method. If I was to cut it myself I’d be unsure how I’d transfer the shape template to the substrate as I only have a 24″ cutter.

    Thanks

Natham, I doubt if a photo will be accurate enough, Does the arch have a constant radius, or is it flatter In the middle?
You may have to cut on site to get a good fit. Or maybe you could mark out a template in cardboard or hardboard?. Is the dibond to be monuted onto an existing flat surface or is it to “fill in” the arch.

Peter – I think making a template out of cardboard would be my best option, the dibond is to fill the arch in.

    Thanks
