i would say a combination of vhb and rivettes.
rivettes alone will work but the laterial is soft so “may” cuase ripping if exposed to high winds.

Problem is the rivetting damages the face of the sheet, any glues or tapes??

yes thats what VHB is, a double sided tape.
rivettes wont damge the face as such but are noticable.

we just finished a 12ft by 4ft dybond there this evening to be installed tomorrow for a customer (bit behind at the moment hence having to install it tomorrow) with the channel attached with 3m vhb tape and i stood on top of the channel with all 15 stone of me on top of the channel alone and it did not budge, but 1 rivet at each end might not be a bad idea. It is being mounted 2 foot above ground level so it will hold with just the tape alone.

the tape will hold it on its own mate, but if you check in back posts, i do mention i prefer to put rivettes in 3 inch or so from each end and if possible one in middle for good measure to stop the ripping effect from the wind on the channel and tape. so your right, adding these can only help 😉

Adhesives will also work, but the important thing is to have flexibility so that It can not ‘shear off’.
