Hi guys desperately need an east mids based engineer for my roland sp540v

name and numbers on a postcard please, closing date.. sometime last week

Had support from a few ppl and also have the engineers service manual and allot of electrical knowledge.

Now roland wont talk to me as not a registered engineer, they wont send one of theirs as i recently started using 3rd party inks.

I need an engineer who knows these machines, not one who will just call roland as i have already carried out everything in their remit.

    background info
Replaced Cut carriage cable twice! and new pinch roller sensor.
re calibrated and followed the engineers service manual and still giving right pinch roller error.

Before anyone asks yes it is in the marked area, after 2 weeks of downtime i wish it was that stupid.

I have cleaned linear encoder completed setup and calibration, no problems
so deffo lies with seeing the pinch rollers or the communication of that message

no longer get 0mm width now is only right pinchroller.

is it as simple as a new pinch roller? or are we talking circuit boards here

Any sniff in the right direction is greatly appreciated at this point

    Paul 🙂

Andy Broom is good on Roland’s, not sure about Andy Malcolm. Steve Draper is in the Midlands too I believe but also Julian Mildner (my ‘go to’ guy for Roland as he freelances for Roland as well as his own work), Anthony Rinberg and Colin Tupman will also travel.

I’m OK on Roland’s (repaired an XC-540 in Swansea today) but stacked out at the moment. If you’ve done the cut carriage cable and guide already I would suggest you’re right about the pinch roller assy itself being next. I can’t see the problem being board related but stranger things have happened.
