  • Cutting Super ABS Plastic

    Hi,

I have spent the last hour cutting some 3mm Super ABS plastic to size.

I have marked out and then used a stanly knife to cut. Its taken ages to cut through the plastic.

Is there some type\make of gullotine or other method that would make it easier to cut?

    Thanks

    Daz….

Have you tried scoring the plastic first then snap it along the score line.

I think you’d be better sawing it if you can’t score and break as Mike suggested. Fine TCT toothed circular saw works on most sheet plastics fine. Better still get the supplier to cut it to size for you 😉

Hi Vince, it stands for Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene I believe ! It’s a bit like solid pvc but not as brittle. I’m not sure what the “Super” bit means to be honest but I’d guess it’s higher impact resistance ??
