cutting problems

No it probably doesn’t have anything to do with either of these but the blade may be set to low in the holder, don’t know your set-up so can’t advise how to alter it. It could also be down to the cutting strip not sitting flush on the plotter, the rollers not being positioned correctly allowing the vinyl to lift a little in the middle.

You may need a new blade holder? I believe that if the bearing(?) inside goes this stops the blade swivelling properly?
There has been mention somewhere here of being able to oil it to get it working properly again, but don’t take my word for it, I may be talking a load of rubbish!

Is the line between letters just a scratch or a proper cut? Know what I mean? It does sound like a problem with the blade holder assembly, assuming you haven’t got the pressure set at a ridiculously high level.

You can tell by the sound whether the plotter is deliberately dropping the blade or if it is just falling due to a knackered holder.

thanks for everyones advise,
the blades not cutting the vinyl when its moving to another point just leaving a faint line, and its strange that it only seems to happen when iam cutting smaller letters , because if the letters are say , more than 5cm big
then it seems fine, its alot harder than i thought ,but iam sure ill overcome it, best play a tune on my guitar
