  • Cutting Pressures – jump from 25g to 99g

Posted by Ben Hansen on 3 August 2018 at 14:14

Hey guys, hoping someone can help. I have a Summa D140 cutter and its been brilliant, However the last few weeks, the cutting pressure has been a bit ropey. I try and keep it at 25g of pressure and do the test cuts etc. i set it at 25g but as soon as i send he file to cut, the pressure on the LED display shows it cutting at 99g!!!! any ideas are welcomed 🙂

    Thanks All x

we have the same cutter this was happening to us and it was the software we are using (onyx) was forcing the cutter to revert back to the settings in onyx i solved it by changing the option of material on onyx to just manual machine settings , this was also happening with summa winplot not using the settings on the machine but in the summa control programme i un installed summa control and reinstalled it and its been fine since.

Just curious.. I have the same cutter, what are you cutting at 25g? I’ve never cut anything under 55!!

As David mentions – just make sure any cutting programme / RIP is not overriding the pressure

If your using flexi sign(production manager) we make sure the settings don’t override what I have set on the plotter.
