Cutting Master 2 and Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) upgrade
Posted by Kevin Polston on 31 August 2009 at 09:04Hi
I use a Graphtec FC7000Mk2-130 and currently use the Cutting Master 2 (1.6) software with Adobe Illustrator CS3 under Mac OS x 10.5 (Leopard). I want to upgrade to Mac OS x 10.6 (Snow Leopard) but I am unsure if the Cutting Master software works under this version. Do you know if Cutting Master 2 it works under Snow Leopard?
Many thanks

You might want to call or email Graphtec about it. Either that or you could just gamble on if it works or not. I know that we have a few Konica Minolta printers here at work and that they officially never released updated drivers for Panther nor Tiger (or that was the case a few years ago). I’ve actually been able to use them on Panther, Tiger and now Leopard without any problems though. Not saying that it will work or not, but unfortunately the Mac OS is sometimes left til last for companies to spend any effort on.

Simon – thanks for the response and yes, I emailed Graphtec and they have confirmed that Cutting Master 2 (1.6) does indeed work under Snow Leopard. I hope this post helps others.
Thanks again

Wow! You guys saved my life! This will help me a lot..I think…. I hope… 😀
I have an older PPC Mac, running 10.4.11, and a very old Graphtec FC2100-60. I have to keep my OS at 10.4.11, so I can run Classic (OS9), because I have an old version of Flexisign I’m using to send cut files to the plotter.
I design in Illustrator, save down to Illustrator v3, open in Flexi, and cut. A real pain, but it’s been working for years.
I could’ve run this way forever, but I need to upgrade my OS, and don’t want to lose the ability to cut. I can stand to lose Flexi anyway. And having to use a USB-ADB adaptor just for the Flexi dongle was always a headache. Now I can get rid of all that! Hooray!
If anyone ever needs help getting old stuff to work together , give me a shout. My email is pleasebuymycrap, then "at mac . com" with no spaces. I’d love to help another signologist in need!
I’ll report back with my experience.
Thank you so much!
