  • Cutting Issues on SG300 when making labels

    Hi Guys

HI have a Roland SG300 and I have been trying to do some labels, 700 in fact it will only let me do 250 at a time not sure why but I can handle this, what I can’t understand or seem to work out is why when it comes to cutting them it keeps cutting to deep and though the paper (although not fully), I have checked my artwork and it is a CutCountour line round not a PrefCut line (not even used this yet) does anyone have any idea why this is happening, oh forgot to mention I do a test cut so blade downforce is correct but still it cuts almost right through.
    Any help appreciated.

No I checked that also, update I think it is the printer, I changed the downforce to 60 and after cutting and again going through the paper I checked the downforce and it had gone back to 140. Getting sick of this now jobs stacking up.

Down force might be set in Versaworks to 140 and this is changing the down force on the printer. From memory there is a check box checked which causes this.

There is a tick box in the cutter window ‘use printer settings’, click your printer icon in the Versaworks window & enter the default settings & adjust all to your preferences. Saves loads of time doing each individual file

I will have a go at that but now Roland have contacted me to sort this issue out. All settings have been saved on the printer and been cutting and printing with no issues in till yesterday, we are starting to think it could be a bug in the last versa works update.

Ok an update, Dan from Tech at Roland has been in touch and we went through a few things, turns out that Cut Prior should be set to Menu, for some reason mine had changed to Command all on its own, so changing that has sorted this problem. Once again I can’t fault Support well done lads and thank you & thank you to you guys with your suggestions.
