Cutter – Trimmer
Posted by Andrew Boyle on 9 August 2006 at 21:50Could anyone recommend a good desktop trimmer [cutter] for digital prints and prints mounted onto thin[ish] materials.
Maybe about 6′ long
Many Thanks
Andrew

hm… our Keencut Javelin is pretty much a stanley knife on a rail, works well but a tad heavy and if used improperly you could mark prints with it. Oh, its 10foot long our one i think.

Andrew we have a Keencut Practik, it’s just over 2mt’s long it cuts vinyl corex and fomex ,upto 5mm thick may be more only straight lines but very handy. phone number is 01536 261690 may be not what you are thinking about !!!
edited to add. sort of like Dave says but ours is not that heavy. and have had no damage with it.Lynn

brilliant for correx and the like but "my guess" is that the javelin type fitted to a table would be better for trimming pre-laid prints. -
ours isn’t like that it just lays flat on the table and about 6" wide

keencut practik, and I don’t think it was too expensive had it for years it uses stanley blades or similar. I think they do differant lengths as well.
ours is not like that Andrew.(ebay link)Lynn

That Ebay one looks very similar to the Excalibur, and may even have the 2 cutting heads (can’t see properly). Looks like a very good price though.
