Graeme,
I would have to agree with Peter, give brimark a try, 0151 652 6842, there 2nd to none in my view, ask for Nancy.
here’s their price list

Was also on to Brimark today for some custom cut shapes…quite good prices.
(Although I tend to use ACCENT for all of my lettering…go figure)
-
Fabricut are also very good.
Good Prices
Good Turn Around Times
Good QualityFabricut – 02087517250 (ask for Paul)

warren, the only problem there is that they own a sign company also, so they are trade/sign company
never been a big fan of that, infact there was a big debate about it here recently

Yes I know and have read the thread but as a small sign maker myself I have to do what’s best for me and they give me great prices, service and quality so why should I go somewhere else? I know the risks etc involved but if they ever tried to steal a customer they would lose all their trade work so quickly when the word got out it would not be worth their while.
The same goes for Victory Design, I use them too as nobody can supply me the price and quality they can.
With all the small businesses going under these days and struggling I cannot afford to spend more somewhere else just for that reason.
A lot of people who outsource their print gets it from somebody local, this I see as more of a threat to your customer base than using a company 100’s of miles away.
just my opinion 😉
cheers

Fair enough warren, but I must admit after about 30 years in the sign industry I have seen the lot, one thing I do not do is judge everything on price, because invariably you get a contract at a set price from the cheap boys, then hey presto the prices go up in line with all the others and you are left up the creek without a paddle.
Also, what I found when I was a cheap boy! 🙂 is that there is no room for error and definately no room for investment, so is there a long term future for being the cheapest? because I want a supplier who can give me a job I ordered off them 6 years ago, when I get an invoice off brimark it has a file number, they actually store the job for future use, with the state of my workshop and filing system that is invaluable. 🙂

fair point but it’s all worth nothing if your business does not survive 😕
I must repeat though that the quality and service has been 2nd to none, I used to use Brimark and TradeSigns in the past and had the odd problem (nothing major though) I have used Fabricut for my last few orders and they have impressed me.
I’m also not a cheap boy and took a lot of advice from this forum about pricing etc and never do "cheap" work, I give good fair prices and work accordingly. Like any business or organisation the cost savings and extra profit has to come from within the company as we cannot just increase our prices as we want so finding ways to save pounds if very important especially this time of the year and economy climate.
I would recommend all these suppliers mentioned but personally found Fabricut the best (so far 😉 )
Cheers

Warren, I am not suggesting for one moment you are "a cheap boy" when I said that I was talking about the suppliers and myself at one point in my career.
All I would say is do not lose sleep over the odd few quid here and there, that will not make you go bust, spending 2 hours getting numerous quotes to save a few quid might.
and that also is not aimed at you but I have witnessed people getting 5 quotes!!! etc etc.
I’d rather just crack on and make signs and have a long term relation ship with a handful of suppliers, whomever they may be
