If you have a roland, it should cover that in your setup guide in the manual…

I am trying to use a vajulet 1204 printer, I am using the PosterPrint RIP.

When I go to cut from the rip it says it can not find anything to cut. The installer said to created a 1% cyan line around an object and set the rip to cut by cmyk value.

As i can not get the cut by 1% cyan method to work I thought i might try the other option which says cut by photoshop clip path.

I think you will need a vector based program, such as Illustrator, Freehand
or CorelDraw, as plotters work on vector information. You can, however, save a selection as a path in Photoshop, and export the path to Illustrator.
You will still need Illustrator or similar to manipulate the path to make it
suitable for your particular cutting software.

    Cheers,
    Jamie.

Use the pen tool in Photoshop to draw a path around your object. Then from the paths pallet (on the same tab as the layers pallet) save path, then when you save your file the clipping path will be saved with it
